How is PGA TOUR Shot Tracker different from a leaderboard?
A leaderboard provides a vertical ranking of tournament leaders including player's respective round totals, to-par score and total score. PGA TOUR Shot Tracker provides a graphical rendering of all the relevant action on course, including the ability to follow individual players, individual groups, and close ups for either view. Shot Trails, Shot Plots, Shot Bars, remaining shot distances, highlights, stats, TV times, and more comprise the PGA TOUR Shot Tracker feature. The PGA TOUR Shot Tracker feature is the next evolution in following tournaments online, by leveraging more of ShotLink's live scoring data.

What is meant by using the term Beta?
The online meaning of Beta is a term often used denoting that development of the features is a work in progress. Beta will usually tell the users that errors may exist or that improvements are still being made. The Beta phase allows consumers to view the feature, while the development team is still working out bugs in the development code. When the Beta tag is removed, this usually means that those bugs are fixed and the final improvements have been made to the features.

How is distance measured for shots?
ShotLink is the proprietary scoring system that transfers data to PGA TOUR Shot Tracker. ShotLink uses lasers and PDA's to track and record shots at almost every PGA TOUR tournament. Volunteers are assigned to each hole, equipped with the necessary tools to capture and transmit shots from each player's shots on course.
Why will some shots not appear?
Some shots may land beyond a laser's range or be in an area where a laser is incapable of functioning. Since the system utilizes on-course volunteers in addition to automated equipment, there may be instances where shots are not captured in time to transmit back to the trailer, before the next shot has occurred. Data glitches can also cause shots to not appear or render in a timely manner.

Why do distances or shot locations occasionally change?
Updates to shot data can occur if position data is initially capturing incorrectly or if refinements are made to the first laser scan. Input data can change, thus shots will be updated accordingly within PGA TOUR Shot Tracker, even if a prior value was displayed.

At the start of the round, why are some shots missing?
There may be instances where data is delayed as it gets verified by the Shotlink system. Input data at the beginning of a round can be delayed by a few minutes, until the system can catch up to live play.
