The PGA TOUR can be an unpredictable place when it comes to fashion, but there's always one thing you can be certain of: Tiger Woods' Sunday Red -- no matter the tournament, no matter the season, no matter his position on the leaderboard. Woods began the tradition in 1996 and has consistently worn some form of red shirt in the final round of all tournaments he plays ever since. It is partially a nod to his alma mater -- the Stanford Cardinal -- and partially because he believes the color symbolizes his aggression and assertiveness in the game. We've compiled a collection of 12 images tracking Tiger's Sunday Red through the years.

Less traditional than the golf polo, many players have started wearing the mock-turtle in recent years, including Tiger. In a brilliant shade of fire-truck red, Tiger celebrated his at-the-last-minute-with-an-impossible-birdie-putt-that-only-he-makes victory on the 18th at the 2008 Arnold Palmer Invitational in a tightly-fitting, mock-turtle neck. |
