SYNOPSIS
 It was more coronation than competition as Tiger Woods won the BMW Championship by eight shots. He shot a course-record 62 in the third round of the third event of the 2009 PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup and simply coasted home. The victory assured Woods of the top seed entering THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola, where he would vie for the second FedExCup title of his career. It was Woods' sixth victory of the season in just 16 starts and marked the sixth year he has won at least that many events since turning pro in 1996. And with the dominating victory at Cog Hill, Woods has now won a tournament by eight or more strokes for the 10th time during his career. The victory was Woods' fifth in the tournament once known as the Western Open, tying him with the legendary Walter Hagen. Woods' average margin of victory at those five events is 4.2 strokes and he's now a phenomenal 140-under par in his 11 starts there as a pro.
