SYNOPSIS
 Tiger Woods led by as many as 11 shots in the final round, and he wound up winning by eight in his 2008 season-opener. Not that his success came as any surprise given Woods' record at Torrey Pines where he won for the fourth straight time and sixth overall. He moved into the lead with a second-round 65 and was never headed in a tournament that runner-up Ryuji Imada called the "Tiger Woods Invitational." The victory was Wood's fifth in his last six starts dating back to last year. And the other? Well, it was a tie for second. With his 62nd win, Woods tied Arnold Palmer on the career list. "This course has been really kind to me," Woods said. "Ever since junior golf all the way through my professional ranks, I've somehow really seemed to have played well here. It fits my eye. I feel very comfortable here. I can read the greens even though they're a little bit bouncy. I can still read them, and I read them well."
