SYNOPSIS
 Doral's Blue Monster was particularly generous this week, which made for an exciting tournament. Woods grabbed the lead with a first-round 64 and was never headed, although Phil Mickelson, who had been part of the previous year's thrilling duel, tied Woods at the midway point of the tournament. Mickelson couldn't keep pace in the third round, but by Sunday, the ample crowds had something else to entertain them in the young Colombian, Camilo Villegas. David Toms put some pressure on Woods, too, but he three-putted for bogey from 70 feet on the 18th hole to fall back into a tie for second with Villegas. Woods' two closing bogeys were inconsequential. "I look at it this way -- I put myself there," Woods said. "So if I put myself there enough times, those things are going to happen, as well as other guys are going to make birdies to beat me. That's the way it goes. As long as I'm there each and every time, it's not a bad place to be."
