Six of the last seven years, Ryan Moore has finished second in an event. In 2011, it was at the Travelers Championship, where he shot 64-63 on the weekend. Moore was tied for the lead on the final hole when he missed a 4-footer for par to fall back into a tie for second as Fredrik Jacobson went on to win.

On a positive note, Moore had four top-10s on the year and nine top-25s while missing the fewest number of cuts -- three -- in his career.

As for the other runner-up finishes in his career, Moore has finished second at the 2010 AT&T National, 2008 HP Byron Nelson Championship, 2007 Memorial Tournament, 2006 Travelers Championship and 2005 RBC Canadian Open.

The only year he didn't post a runner-up? Moore won the 2009 Wyndham Championship, which remains his only victory to date on TOUR.

Three past winners on the PGA TOUR offer their exclusive evaluations of Moore for PGATOUR.COM.

Ryan is a very consistent player. He just goes about his business and gets the job done.

His consistent ball-striking and timely putting makes Ryan dangerous on any layout.

In the last three years, he has finished 42nd or better on the season-ending money list. He shot 64-63 on the weekend to finish T2 at the Travelers, and this display hints that he is very close to capturing his second career title. I wouldn't be at all surprised if that victory came at a Major Championship.

Gamers that observed his incredible run as an amateur in 2004 might still feel that he's fallen short of the lofty expectations that year projected. However, while he has just one PGA TOUR victory, he's amassed half a dozen runner-up finishes and over $11 million in earnings in six and a half years as a touring pro, so he's about as close to a cornerstone as you can get. Furthermore, his owners won't mind another finicky schedule of 22 starts if it means a third straight year of 18 cuts made.
