Jason Day is just 22 but he has been playing golf professionally for five years. Day even set the record as the youngest winner of a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event when he captured the Legend Financial Group Classic on the Nationwide Tour at the age of 19 years, 7 months and 26 days. Success on the PGA TOUR has been a little more elusive, but if the "veteran" from Australia can continue to mature the 2010 season should be another successful one. He has won more than $2 million in two seasons on TOUR and picked up his first runner-up finish last year. Day actually had a chance to force a playoff at the Puerto Rico Open presented by Banco Popular but a 7-footer for birdie on the 72nd hole stubbornly refused to fall. He also missed a three-way playoff at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial - where he is a member -- by a stroke after shooting four rounds in the 60s.

He's still so young and he's now wearing the battle scars of the game and injuries. There are still a lot of expectations but the spotlight is pointed elsewhere right now. If every dog does have its day Jason's best is yet to come.

What did Tiger Woods and Jason Day have in common in 2009? Both finished in the top 30 in all-around while playing less than 20 events. Woods was No. 1, while Day ranked seventh in 18 starts.
