Michael Jordan took Sean O'Hair under his wing at the Presidents Cup last fall. And when he wasn't picking the uber-talented 27-year-old's pocket on the golf course, the NBA legend was preparing O'Hair to soar in 2010. O'Hair won his third PGA TOUR title last year - making him the only American under the age of 30 to have as many victories. The one-stroke win at the Quail Hollow Championship was particularly satisfying after he had let the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by MasterCard slip away five weeks earlier. O'Hair entered the final round at Bay Hill with a five-stroke lead only to see Tiger Woods overtake him with a birdie on the 72nd hole. O'Hair ended up finishing fifth or better six times last year and he had a career-best nine top-10 finishes. He made a great run through the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup - tying for eighth at the Deutsche Bank Championship and finishing fourth and third in the final two events to end up fifth overall. His earnings of $4.3 million were also a career high.
So good, so solid, the sky is the limit. He seems very comfortable in his role on the PGA TOUR. But he still can't beat his caddy in Golden Tee.
His Official World Golf Ranking soared from 65th to 15th during the 2009 season. He set career highs in top-10s (nine) and scoring average (70.45).
