After a career year on the PGA TOUR, Bill Haas will certainly be eagerly anticipating the 2010 season. In fact, with the way he played last fall, the former Wake Forest All-American probably hated to see 2009 end. Haas set the tone for his second-straight $1 million year when he tied for ninth in his debut at the Sony Open in Hawaii. He later matched his best TOUR finish when he tied for third at the Valero Texas Open, finishing a stroke out of the playoff. The 27-year-old really heated things up in his final eight starts, though. Not only did Haas make it through three events of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, he closed out the season with six top-25s, including three of 11th or better, and won more than $674,000 during that stretch.
There is only one hurdle left to clear for Bill. Don't be surprised if this is Bill's year. He has the pedigree and the desire.
Though he's still looking for his first career win, Haas continued to show signs of improvement, ranking 22nd in driving distance and 34th in greens in regulation -- both slightly better than 2008.
