Jason Dufner broke the get-his-TOUR-card-lose-his-TOUR-card syndrome in a big way last year. So the Auburn grad should have plenty of confidence entering the 2010 campaign. Dufner made sure he kept the card he earned at q-school in 2008 with a career year that saw him earn $2.1 million - nearly double his previous winnings on TOUR combined. He advanced to THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola and finished 11th in the FedExCup - thanks in large part to his runner-up finish at the Deutsche Bank Championship. That tie for second was preceded five weeks earlier by a share of third at the RBC Canadian Open. Dufner had a total of six top-10s and two more of 25th or better in his breakthrough year that ended with a tie for third at the JBWere Masters in Australia.
Perhaps the journeyman has finally found a home on the PGA TOUR. He's quietly improving every year on the PGA TOUR.
Round 2 was definitely when Jason Dufner, who finished 10th in the FedExCup standings, made the most of his opportunities -- he ranked 19th on TOUR in second-round scoring average.
