John Senden will be looking for his second PGA TOUR victory in 2010. But as long as he keeps giving himself chances like he did last year, the Aussie will likely have another opportunity to hoist a trophy soon. Senden posted career highs in money ($2.3 million), top-10 finishes (seven) and top-24s (11) last year while trying to win for the first time since the 2006 John Deere Classic. The consummate ball-striker, the 38-year-old led the TOUR in greens in regulation, hitting just over 70 percent, and ranked 15th in total driving. Had his flat stick been more cooperative -- Senden ranked 127th in putting and 165h in putts per round -- he might have capitalized on all those opportunities he gave himself. Senden did manage to make it to THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola for the first time in his career, claiming the last spot when Brandt Snedeker four-putted the final hole at the BMW Championship.
He's closer to the top 20 in the world than anyone realizes. Senden has all the tools to be the best Aussie on TOUR next year.
He hit the green in regulation 70.89 percent of the time in 2009, which made him first on TOUR in that category. Senden was 10th in GIR in 2008, second in 2007 and third in 2006.
