In his never-ending quest for perfection, Padraig Harrington thought -- inexplicably to some -- that the time to tinker with his swing was in 2009 after he had won three of the last six majors. He paid the price, too, but a dramatic turnaround that began last August has considerably improved the outlook for the 2010 campaign. The Irishman never questioned his decision, though -- not even when he only broke 70 seven times in his first 37 rounds on TOUR last year. The eighth time was a sizzling 64 at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational and Harrington never looked back -- tying for second at Firestone and finishing in the top-10 in his next five events, as well. Harrington certainly got hot at the right time. He ranked 146th in the FedExCup when he came to Akron and stood 70th when he left the tire city. Harrington went on to finish seventh overall, which was his best FedExCup performance yet. Just imagine what he might do with that tweaked swing with all of 2010 on the horizon.
This year he will reinvent the wheel and discover fire. He and Al Gore invented the Internet. You should see what they are working on for 2010.
