In 2010 Matt Kuchar will be looking to continue the steady progress he's made since regaining his PGA TOUR card three years ago. Last season even came complete with his second career victory at the Turning Stone Resort Championship. The victory wasn't assured, though, until Kuchar and Vaughn Taylor had played six extra holes over two days. In a way the extra effort may have been only fitting considering it ended a winless drought of more than seven years. Riding that momentum, the former Georgia Tech standout tied for seventh the following week in Las Vegas. Kuchar finished the season with five top-10s, tying his 2008 campaign for a career-best, and more than $2.2 million in earnings, also a career-high. He finished 19th or better in his last five confidence-building starts of the season, too.
A winner in the Fall Series, a solid performer all year. He took some knocks over the last couple of years and has come out a better player.
Kuchar did exceptionally well saving par from greenside bunkers, as he got up and down 61.0 percent of the time in 2009. That made him fourth on TOUR in sand saves.
