Vijay Singh has won more times since turning 40 than any player in PGA TOUR history - 22 of his total 34, to be exact. The well dried up last year, though, and with Singh turning 47 in February, you can be sure he'll be trying to outwork everyone in 2010 to get back into the winner's circle. Singh had arthroscopic surgery in mid-January of 2009 to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. He was back on TOUR in four weeks but didn't get his first top-10 until he returned home to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., for THE PLAYERS Championship. Three weeks later, Singh had his second, a tie for sixth at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, and he added another at AT&T National. But the big Fijian with the elegant swing never really threatened, and while Singh is hardly hurting financially his $1.2 million in earnings was his lowest total since the 1997 season.
A healthy Vijay is timeless. Expect one last great push from the Big Fijian before he rides off into the sunset and leaves records that are likely to stand forever.
Singh ranked T130 in approaches from 50-75 yards and 126th in approaches from 75-100 yards, yet he was fifth in approaches from 100-125 yards.
