It's hard to imagine a more quiet and likely underappreciated major champion than Angel Cabrera. Sure, there is a language barrier for the big Argentine but his game speaks for itself. He's won two of the last nine majors and will be looking to add another to his resume in 2010. Cabrera's second major came last year at Augusta National where the big-hitting man from Cordoba outlasted Kenny Perry and Chad Campbell to win his first Green Jacket. He came up with a clutch par from the trees on the first playoff hole and then two-putted on the second for the win his countryman, Roberto De Vicenzo was denied when he signed an incorrect scorecard in 1968. Cabrera also finished fourth twice, once at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational where he led the field in driving distance at 339.4 yards and later at the Deutsche Bank Championship. He earned a career-high $2.6 million and played in THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola for the first time.
More fun loving than any of us know here in the States, and his English dramatically improves after midnight.
The '09 Masters champion averaged 304.1 yards off the tee, making him eighth in driving distance in '09. But he hit just 51 percent of the fairways (No. 181 on TOUR).
