All eyes will be on Phil Mickelson in 2010 to see if he becomes the rival to Tiger Woods that everyone has hoped. He certainly showed signs of that capability as the 2009 season wound down and he beat Woods in their final two events - once at THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola and again at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions. Mickelson exuded confidence at East Lake after getting a putting tip from Dave Stockton. He'd long been comfortable with the work he and Butch Harmon had put in on his swing, and the advice from Stockton seemed to be the proverbial missing link - making fans more eager than ever for the 2010 season to start. Even though he won three times in 2009, Mickelson undoubtedly will be glad to put 2009 behind him. He took two extended breaks to be with his family after both his wife Amy and mother Mary were diagnosed with breast cancer. Their prognosis is good, though, which makes the upcoming season look even better.

He adds another major this year, mostly because they aren't playing on in N.Y. No one played better at the end of the year than Lefty.

He ranked sixth on TOUR in percentage of drives that exceeded the 320-yard mark, with 19.49 percent of his drives flying 320 yards or more. His longest? 382.
