If he does so, will play out of the Major Medical Extension category for the remainder of the season. 2005: Playing on a Major Medical Extension, did not play due to continued recovery from a herniated disc at the base of his spine. 2004: In final year of two-year exemption from 2002 Invensys Classic of Las Vegas, played in only eight events due to lingering back injury. Made one cut at the Reno-Tahoe Open 2003: Fresh off first PGA TOUR victory in 2002, missed a large portion of the season due to a herniated disc at the base of his spine. Limited to only 11 events. Did not compete between the Wachovia Championship and the Buick Open, a span of almost two months. Shut it down for the season after a T61 finish at the PGA in mid-August...In second start of season, finished T7 at AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, six shots behind Davis Love III...Entered World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship No. 65 in Official World Golf Ranking, upset No. 2 seed Ernie Els in 20 holes. Finished T17...Playing in first Masters, made the cut and finished T39. 2002: One of a record 18 first-time winners, getting his victory at the Invensys Classic of Las Vegas...Finished 23rd in PGA TOUR Qualifying School in December 2001 to retain full status after injury-plagued 2001 campaign...Had heart surgery in July to control a heart condition that he has had for several years called superventricular tachycardia, a rapid heartbeat that occurs and disappears suddenly...Carded final-round 10-under 62 to capture first TOUR win at the Invensys Classic at Las Vegas. Started the day five shots behind leader David Duval, but posted 10 birdies without a bogey to claim a one-stroke victory at 29-under-par 330 over Stuart Appleby and Jeff Sluman. Key stretch was back nine, where birdies on Nos. 13, 15 and 16 built a three-shot lead. With a career-best paycheck of $900,000, jumped from 77th to 33rd on the TOUR money list for 2002. 2001: Limited in 12 PGA TOUR events in 2001 due to lingering neck injury...Notched only top-25s of season at first two events, Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic (T12) and Kemper Insurance Open (T17). Greensboro earnings of $68,600 represented season high. 2000: Did not make a cut in four events on the PGA TOUR, but did make one cut in six events on Nationwide Tour...T30 at the Oregon Classic for his only payday of the year. 1999: Finished T4 at the Bell Canadian Open after entering the final round just one stroke off the lead. Finished 150th on the money list with $232,078. 1998: Posted a second consecutive season in the top 100 on the money list...Logged best career finish at 1998 Michelob Championship, a second, three strokes behind winner David Duval. 1997: Finished third at Bell Canadian Open. 1996: Earned his first career title at the Nationwide Tri-Cities Open, finishing at 21-under par and six strokes ahead of runner-up Skip Kendall...At end of the season won the Australian PGA Championship. Gained exempt status for the 1997 on the PGA TOUR by finishing T7 at PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament. 1995: On Nationwide Tour, had back-to-back weeks where he finished one stroke back of winner -- at the Ozarks Open (T4) and Permian Basin Open (T2). Amateur: Medalist at 1992 World Amateur Team Championship as member of New Zealand's winning team. 1993 New Zealand Amateur Champion.

Father TeRoi played rugby for New Zealand's Maori All Blacks between 1960-66...Started playing golf at age 7 after caddying for father...Extremely proud of Maori heritage...In July 2002, underwent surgery in Texas to correct a heart condition called superventricular tachycardia. The ailment is not life-threatening, but mirrors the symptoms of
a heart attack. Steve Jones had the procedure done in August 2002 and David Toms in November 2005.
