Underwent revolutionary surgery, having an "X-Stop" procedure done on the facet joints in his lower back in Cologne, Germany, in early May...Played a total of five events following his surgery. 2004: Competition was limited to 12 events...Bothered by a nerve problem in his lower back and did not play after mid-July.
