AVONDALE, La. – Brooks Koepka locked up special temporary membership with a strong finish at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, allowing him to accept unlimited sponsor’s exemptions for the remainder of the 2013-14 season.

Koepka, who finished T3 earlier this season at the Frys.com Open, only needed seven FedExCup points this week to earn the distinction. He’ll earn that easily after a top 25 finish at TPC Louisiana, where he posted a 9-under 279 total.

“Now hopefully we can get the card over here, that’s the next step,” said Koepka, who will now head to Charlotte to attempt to Monday qualify for the Wells Fargo Championship.

Koepka, a 23-year-old Florida native who splits time betweenthe United States and the European and Challenge tours, also Monday qualified for the Zurich Classic earlier this week with a 64.

Should he fail to qualify in Charlotte, Koepka will headback to Europe to play the European Tour through the Nordea Masters in late May.

“That's the plan right now,” he said. “It's changing every day it feels like.”
