Marc Leishman took home the victory -- and the biggest FedExCup move -- Sunday at the Travelers Championship. But a number of players left TPC River Highlands feeling like winners.
Of the week's 20 biggest movers, 16 were either on the Playoffs bubble (outside the top 100) or outside the top 125. Those players either greatly improved their chances of making the playoffs, or locked up spots last week.
In addition to Leishman's move to No. 3, Charley Hoffman likely secured at least a two-event stay in the FedExCup Playoffs. Hoffman, who started the week at No. 100 in the FedExCup chase, tied for second and moved just inside the top 50 to No. 49 in the latest standings.
From his spot in Sunday's final pairing, Roland Thatcher tied for fourth and made a 52-position surge to No. 155 in the standings while Tim Clark continued his strong play with an identical T4 finish that pushed him inside the top 125 for the first time this season.
The week's big winner, however, was Leishman. The 2009 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year has made just one trip to the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola in his career and has never entered the Playoffs inside the top 30. If he can maintain his ranking, Leishman will be in position to top his best FedExCup finish (20th) that he posted in his '09 rookie campaign.
