ENDICOTT, N.Y. -- Broome County Community Charities, Inc. Thursday announced $100,000 contribution to Southern Tier Flood Relief.

Broome County Community Charities, Inc., Executive Director, Alex Alexander presented the check to Joseph Slavik, executive director of Catholic Charities of Broome County.

“We realized the importance of expediting this contribution because the residents of the Southern Tier need this money today, as they are suffering now,” Alexander said. “We are just glad that we were able to help.”

“It’s at times like these where people in our community step up, and once again Alex Alexander and Broome County Charities have come through to provide our community with much needed funds,” Slavik said.

This contribution includes the proceeds from Friday night’s “Help Is On Its Way” benefit concert Presented by the Oakdale Mall which featured The Little River Band. Additional funding of this contribution has come from B.C. Open sponsors who, in lieu of a refund, have asked that all or a portion of their 2006 B.C. Open sponsorship package be redirected to Southern Tier Flood Relief.
