PGA TOUR Superstore opens in Atlanta
ROSWELL, Ga. -- Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, Inc. (GTPS) opened its first Atlanta-area PGA TOUR Superstore with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the store on Thursday. The approximately 65,000 square-foot store is located on Holcomb Woods Parkway in Roswell, Ga., just one-half mile east of highway GA400, at the intersection of Holcomb Bridge Road and Old Alabama Road. Representatives from the PGA TOUR, GTPS and the city of Roswell were in attendance the ceremony. Store hours will be from 9 a.m to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The PGA TOUR Superstore is also be home to SERIOUS TENNIS, a store-within-a-store. It is the largest tennis shop in the Atlanta area, encompassing 7,500 square feet dedicated to tennis apparel, equipment and instruction. The Superstore strategy for tennis is similar to the strategy for golf -- all aspects of customer service will be provided by experienced tennis professionals.
"The PGA TOUR is very excited about the potential of this new relationship with GTPS," said Leo McCullagh, vice president of Retail Licensing for the PGA TOUR. "We are confident that they will demonstrate that their concept for golf retail is unique and will allow thousands of golfers to be able to improve their games and shop in a retail environment that is a must-see." The Roswell store is the first in a planned national expansion of the PGA TOUR Superstore concept, which was born in 2003 when GTPS joined forces with the PGA TOUR. The company's first stores were two 65,000 square-foot "Martin's Golf & Tennis Superstores," purchased in the Myrtle Beach. S.C., area in 2004. |
