Has also played on the Asian Tour (2010), European Tour (2006-07, 2009) and the Canadian Tour (2002-05). 2011: PGA TOUR rookie made 22 starts, with his lone top-25 coming in his last start of the year, at the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Classic. Four sub-par rounds led to a T20. Claimed a pair of top 25s in four Nationwide Tour starts. In December, he finished T24 at the PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament to earn a return to the PGA TOUR for his sophomore season in 2012. 2010: Had played in four career PGA TOUR events, most recently finishing T59 at The Honda Classic (his only made cut). Gained entry into the field by going through two qualifiers. Opened with a 66 to sit just one shot behind Nathan Green and fellow Mississippi State alum Michael Connell. 2009: Played in 19 European Tour events, making nine cuts. His best performance was a T28 at the Open de Andalucia in March. Also played on the European Challenge Tour, with his best finish a T13 at the SK Golf Challenge. 2008: Played primarily on the European Challenge Tour, picking up seven top-10s and a career-best T2 at the Trophee du Golf Club de Geneve in Switzerland. Also traveled to South America and won the Marbella Chile Open. 2007: Played 27 European Tour events after earning his Tour card with a victory at the final qualifying tournament. Turned in a pair of seventh-place showings as his best performances. Was T7 in May at the Telecom Italia Open. Three months earlier, added a solo seventh at the Enjoy Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open. 2006: Had two top-10s on the European Tour, and they both came in consecutive starts, at The Imperial Collection Russian Open (sixth) and the BMW International Open (T8). 2003: Prior to 2010, his last made start on the PGA TOUR came in a missed cut at the Southern Farm Bureau Classic. To which he now says, “I was petrified. I was just horrified. I wanted to get off the course as soon as I could because I felt so uncomfortable.". Won three times in his native Brazil and picked up a Canadian Tour title with partner Bryn Parry. Amateur: 2000 first-team All-American at Mississippi State. 1999 honorable mention All-American. Could not speak English when he arrived on campus in Starkville. Notable amateur wins came at the 1992 and 1995 South American Championship, 1993 and 1995 Brazil National Junior Championship and the 1994 and 1997 Brazil National Championship. |

Credits Brazil being awarded the 2016 Summer Olympics as turning his career around. After the announcement, he changed his instructor, manager and equipment. Current golf instructor is Jason Birmbaum. Biggest thrill in golf is hitting a 3-iron to 1 foot. Spending time with his son is his biggest thrill outside of golf. Would most like to play Muirfield Village GC in Dublin, OH, home of the Memorial Tournament and the 2013 Presidents Cup. Never travels without his iPod. Favorite college team is Mississippi State. Favorite professional teams are the Orlando Magic and New York Giants. Favorite TV show is "Friday Night Lights." Favorite movie is "Ocean's Eleven." Lists Brazilian barbecue as his favorite food. |
