Rookie on the 2002 PGA TOUR. Only PGA TOUR experience came when he qualified for the 2001 U.S. Open and when he received a sponsor exemption at the 2001 Texas Open at LaCantera. Played in six BUY.COM TOUR events in 2000 after graduating from Northwestern University in June. Made four cuts and finished T15 at the BUY.COM Tri-Cities Open. Two-time All-Big Ten selection. 2000 First-team All-American. 1998 Washington Amateur Champion. 1998 Seattle City Amateur Champion. In 1996, member of the Washington High School State Golf Championship team. Got started in golf when his parents gave him a set of clubs at age 5. Both Jesse and his mother Cathy have won the Washington State Amateur Championship. Raced motor cross in high school. Joins teammate Luke Donald as the two Northwestern University graduates who survived 2001 Qualifying Tournament. |
