Granted special medical extension for 2001 after battling through injury-plagued 2000 season. Initially, suffered hand injury at FedEx St. Jude Classic. After rehabbing, suffered from back pain. Has 11 events in which to earn $356,833 in order to keep exemption. Prior to health problems, had made five cuts in 18 starts on the PGA TOUR and two cuts in four ppearances on BUY.COM TOUR. Earned 2000 playing card by finishing 30th at 1999 Qualifying Tournament.
