| Finished T14 at the PGA TOUR's Qualifying Tournament and will be a rookie on TOUR in 2008. One of eight players to earn their card in their first trip to the Qualifying Tournament finals in 2007. Played in two events on the PGA TOUR in 2007, the Masters and the U.S. Open, with his best finish, T42, coming at the U.S. Open. Struggled on the European Tour in 2007 and finished 167th on the Order of Merit after finishing in the top 75 in each of the previous four years. Tied for the lead with Phil Mickelson through 54 holes of the 2006 U.S. Open at Winged Foot before finishing T6. Finish earned him exemptions into the final two majors of 2006 as well as the 2007 Masters and U.S. Open. Finished 54th on the European Tour's Order of Merit in 2006. Claimed the biggest title of his career in July 2005 at the Smurfit European Open, being played at The K Club, site of the 2006 Ryder Cup. Beat Graeme Storm and Colin Montgomerie by two strokes as Thomas Bjorn (86) and Raphael Jacquelin (79) faltered down the stretch. It was his second title on the European Tour following his first in the 2003 Canarias Open de Espana. Also placed second at the 2005 Dunhill Links before finishing a career-best 11th on the Order of Merit. Won the 1996 British Boys Championship one year before Sergio Garcia claimed the title.
