| One of five Japan natives with PGA TOUR cards in 2003, and one of two Japanese rookies (Akio Sadakata) to earn TOUR card at Qualifying School, finishing T26. Compiled four wins in seven full seasons on the Japan Golf Tour, including two in 2002 at the PGA Championship and Munsingwear Open KSB Cup. Finished seventh on the Japan Golf Tour money list in 2002. Has played in three career PGA TOUR events, including two in 2002-- the British Open (T59) and WGC-American Express Championship (64). Father owned a practice range, but did not acquire professional aspirations until working as an assistant at one of Japan's most prestigious clubs, Tokyo Golf Club.
