2005: Finished No. 150 on the money list but retained his fully-exempt membership thanks to making the 2004 European Ryder Cup Team. Opened the season making only one cut in his first six starts. In seventh TOUR start, made his first cut at the Masters in his second appearance in Augusta (2003-cut), finished T13. Next week, collected his only top-10 of the season, a T6 at the MCI Heritage, thanks to an opening 7-under 64. 2004: Finished 154th on the money list after playing in just five PGA TOUR events as a conditional member. Made the European Ryder Cup team to secure his fully exempt status on TOUR for 2005. Spent a full season on the European Tour, where he posted his third career win and first since the 2001 season. Came from seven strokes back at the European Tour's Barclays Scottish Open in July by firing an 8-under 63 in the final round to defeat New Zealand's Michael Campbell by a stroke. Began the day in a tie for 14th, seven strokes behind 54-hole leaders Gregory Havret and Marcus Fraser. The win gave him an exemption into the following week's British Open in Scotland, where he finished T5. Shared the first-round lead with Paul Casey after an opening, 5-under 66 and trailed Skip Kendall by one at the halfway mark.
