Rookie earned TOUR card via T8 finish at 2006 Qualifying School. One of eight players to negotiate all three stages. Has never played in a TOUR event. Member of the Nationwide Tour in 2005-06. Made the cut in 12 of 26 starts in 2006, with two top-10s. Wrapped up the season No. 77 on the money list, with $71,947. First top-10 of the season-and just the second of his career-came with a T6 at the Oregon Classic. A month later posted his career-best finish with a T4 effort at the PalmettoPride Classic, finishing three strokes behind winner Michael Sim. Posted one top-10 finish during his rookie season in 2005, a T9 finish at the Mark Christopher Charity Classic. Completed the season 105th on the money list. Had a hole-in-one on No. 8 during the second round of the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open. Winner of the Canadian Tour Qualifying Tournament in 2004. Two-time All-America at Northwestern. Was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2000. California State Junior champion in 1998. Qualified for the 1998, 2002 and 2004 U.S. Amateurs. Lists his dad and the late Byron Nelson as his heroes. Brother William is a noted amateur who was a semifinalist at the 2004 U.S. Mid-Amateur and has also played in the British Amateur. They have caddied for each other in competition and William has been a caddie at the San Francisco Golf Club.
