Posted Congressional Country Club course record at Booz Allen Classic, opening with an 8-under-par 63 to lead Kevin Stadler by two strokes after 18 holes. Two top-10s in 2004 and finished 98th on money list, with a T6 at the Buick Championship and T8 at Chrysler Classic of Greensboro. In 2003, posted best finish on TOUR since his victory at 2002 Pebble Beach National Pro-Am with a third at the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro. Posted two aces on TOUR in 2003. In 2002, captured his first PGA TOUR victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am two years after finishing T2 and being overtaken by Tiger Woods on the back nine. This time he came from four back after 54 holes to overtake Pat Perez. Made a 35-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole at Pebble Beach to tie Perez for the lead and won the event moments later after Perez triple-bogeyed the hole. Earned full exempt status in 2001 on the strength of four top-10s and seven top-25s. Made nine cuts out of his last 12 starts. Finished 70th on the final PGA TOUR money list. Made an impressive and successful transition in 2000 from Nationwide Tour to rookie season on PGA TOUR. Shared third-round lead with Mark Brooks at AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. Due to weather, final round played on Monday and Gogel opened with three straight birdies, but a back-nine 40 and Tiger Woods' eagle-birdie-par-birdie finish earned Woods the victory and Gogel a T2 one stroke back. Finished seventh on the 1999 Nationwide Tour money list to earn PGA TOUR card. Recorded $180,173 in earnings thanks to wins at the Louisiana Open and Cleveland Open, the fifth and sixth wins of Nationwide Tour career.
