2003: Finished 123rd for second consecutive season. Played in 35 tournaments for the most starts for the season, joining three other players - Neal Lancaster, Spike McRoy and Esteban Toledo. Posted four rounds in the 60s for the first time in his career on the PGA TOUR to produce his only top-10 of the season, a T5 at the Bank of America Colonial. 2002: Returned to PGA TOUR for first time since 1995. Collected initial top-10 finish of PGA TOUR career in his 49th start, T10 at the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic. Tied the course record at the TPC at Deere Run with a second-round 62 on his 33rd birthday. Record was broken later in the afternoon when eventual winner J.P. Hayes shot a 61. Recovered from a third-round 73, firing a 68 on Sunday to finish T6 at the Buick Open. His $106,838-paycheck pushed him over the $500,000 mark for the first time in his career. 2001: Became fourth three-time winner in Nationwide Tour history to earn in-season promotion to PGA TOUR (Chris Smith, Heath Slocum and Chad Campbell were first three). Finished second on money list with $352,261 and became the new Nationwide Tour career money leader with $844,499. Almost had to give up golf at beginning of season due to financial struggles and loss of sponsors but posted T17 in Florida Classic in Gainesville, Florida where he went to college to earn $5,376 paycheck and stay afloat. Won the Siouxland Open for the second time in his career. Second victory came at Shreveport Open, where four rounds in the 60s set a tournament record (20-under 268). By winning the TOUR Championship the following week gained a spot in final official-money event on PGA TOUR, Southern Farm Bureau Classic, but chose not to play. Became the fifth player in the 13-year history of the Nationwide Tour to win back-to-back tournaments. 2000: Tied with Paul Claxton and Paul Gow after 54 holes at the Hershey Open. A 74 on Sunday resulted in T7. Was one shot off the 54-hole lead at the Ozarks Open. Final-round 69 placed him in a three-man playoff with Mike Heinen and Pat Perez, which was won by Perez. Granted special member/medical status for the 2000 season. 1999: Played in just five events before having season-ending neck surgery in April. Had made first three cuts, including two top-15s. 1997: Fired rounds of 64-66 on the weekend to earn his second career Nationwide Tour title at the Colorado Classic. First-round 11-under-par 61 at the Cleveland Open is the Quail Hollow Resort course record. 1994: Finished third on the Nationwide Tour money list to earn 1995 PGA TOUR membership for the first time in his career. Won the Dakota Dunes Open. 1993: Member of Canadian Tour for second consecutive season. Amateur: Three-time All-America and All-SEC selection from 1989-91 at University of Florida. |

Very active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes. After taking two-stroke penalty for hitting wrong ball in 1993 Canadian Tour event, began writing a Bible verse on his ball for identification purposes. Wife, Kristine Tewell, is daughter of Champions Tour veteran Doug Tewell. |
