Made his Champions Tour debut at the Senior PGA Championship at Valhalla shortly after turning 50 in late May and finished T8. Eagled the final hole to jump into the top 10. One week later, fashioned a T9 finish at the Principal Charity Classic in Iowa. Had another nice showing in a major championship in July when he was T9 at the U.S. Senior Open at the Inverness Club in Toledo.Made his Champions Tour debut at the Senior PGA Championship at Valhalla shortly after turning 50 in late May and finished T8. | 2010: Defeated Aaron Watkins in a playoff to win the Pacific Rubiales Bogota Open. Victory in Colombia allowed him to become the oldest champion at the time in Nationwide Tour history, at 48 years, 9 months, 11 days. Held the 54-hole lead at Bogota CC and fired an even-par 71 to tie Watkins at 11-under 273. Earned the victory when he made par on the second extra hole and Watkins missed his 3-foot par putt. | |

Older brother John competed in 1996 U.S. Amateur and 1996 and 2000 U.S. Mid-Amateur. Teammate of Corey Pavin, Duffy Waldorf and Jay Delsing at UCLA. Says his career highlight was Sunday at the 1999 Ryder Cup. "The comeback spoke for itself.". Favorites include "Animal House," "Law and Order," History Channel and The Discovery Channel. Enjoys taking vacations anywhere tropical, especially Hawaii. Favorite city is Santa Barbara, the city where he grew up. Favorite books are Stephen King's The Stand and Thomas Sowell's "Basic Economics: A Citizen's Guide to the Economy". His favorite sport other than golf is baseball. His father played the sport in college and his grandfather was a Major League pitcher for the St. Louis Browns. Says the food he will avoid at all costs is liver. "Just saying the word makes me nauseous". |
