Expert picks: John Deere Classic
Expert Fantasy selections Projected champion
Rob
Bolton
Keegan Bradley, Zach Johnson
Matt Jones, Steve Stricker
Steve
Stricker
Stricker at TPC Deere Run is the most obvious decision of any unrelated to Tiger Woods all season, but Jones is the potential difference-maker this week.
Chris
Dunham
Keegan Bradley, Brendon de Jonge
Zach Johnson, Steve Stricker
Steve
Stricker
I absolutely abhor a week where I can't pick a player (or a team) that's off the radar for the rest of the panel. Don't think any of these guys will fit the bill. Love de Jonge at this course where he's gone T7-T7-T19 in his last three trips.
Mike
McAllister
Brendon de Jonge, Zach Johnson
Kyle Stanley, Steve Stricker
Steve
Stricker
Difficult to pick anybody but the three-time winner. In his last 28 rounds at this event, only one has been over par and he's a cumulative 84 under in his last four John Deere starts.
John
Schwarb
Brendon de Jonge, Charley Hoffman
Zach Johnson, John Senden
Brendon
de Jonge
Big Brendon is second on TOUR in total birdies and eventually, at one of the birdie-haven courses, he's going to fill it up and run away with one. I say this week. And yeah, maybe I'm crazy, after all I'm not picking Stricker this week. I'm a savage.
Helen
Ross
Keegan Bradley, Zach Johnson
Davis Love III, Steve Stricker
Steve
Stricker
Four top-10s, including two seconds, in seven starts looks pretty darn good on 2013's resume. Stricker knows this course better than anyone and the three-time champ is the man to beat again this year.
Bill
Cooney
Zach Johnson, Davis Love III
John Senden, Steve Stricker
John
Senden
Senden keeps knocking on the winner's circle door. The only time he's opened it was right here in 2006. Also finished fourth here last season and is coming off a respectable T30 showing at The Greenbrier Classic. Stricker and Johnson are locks for this event and DL3, finally healthy, had his first T10 of the season last week.
Anne
Detlefsen
Zach Johnson, Jordan Spieth
Kyle Stanley, Steve Stricker
Zach
Johnson
He doesn't have the wins Steve Stricker has at TPC Deere Run but Zach Johnson has been almost as good. He's 65 under over the last four years here (trailing Stricker's incredible 84-under mark but has a four-year streak of carding four rounds in the 60s at TPC Deere Run. Don't sleep on the defending champ this week.
Ryan
Smithson
Chris Kirk, Ted Potter Jr.
Kyle Stanley, Steve Stricker
Steve
Stricker
I refuse to give up on Kirk; he has the talent to win 10 times in his career. Stanley, the 2011 runner-up, is kind of a no-brainer here and TPC Deere Run is a good setup for Potter Jr. Cue the jinx(es)!
Brian
Wacker
Brendon de Jonge, Zach Johnson
Kyle Stanley, Steve Stricker
Steve
Stricker
Stricker has three wins in the event and this season has four top 10s this season, including a pair of runner-up finishes. He seems to have adapted to his limited schedule quite well and all that's missing is a win.
Bryan
Mullen
Derek Ernst, Zach Johnson
Kevin Streelman, Steve Stricker
Kevin
Streelman
Yep, he has missed four straight cuts. But just before that he finished T3, T6 and T2 in three consecutive events and he won at Tampa Bay in March. TPC Deere Run is the perfect place for him to rebound. He finished T8 here last year after a 65 on Sunday.
John
Swantek
Luke Guthrie, Davis Love III
Steve Stricker, Jordan Spieth

Jordan
Spieth
The 19 year's old's excellent summer adventure continues despite a Sunday stumble at The Greenbrier. Only a win gets him into FedExCup Playoffs, and it's coming soon.
Amanda
Balionis
Jonas Blixt, Luke Guthrie
Zach Johnson, Steve Stricker
Steve
Stricker
The John Deere Classic has become synonymous with Steve Stricker. You can't talk about the event without thinking of the three-time -- soon to be four-time -- champion. Tough to argue with his course history or 2013 performances which include runner-up finishes in the Hyundai and WGC-Cadillac.
Sean
Martin
Luke Guthrie, Zach Johnson
Kyle Stanley, Steve Stricker
Luke
Guthrie
Finished fifth here last year on a sponsor exemption. The University of Illinois grad would love to get his first win in his home state.
