DORAL, Fla. -- The new adidas pure 360 shoe Dustin Johnson has been wearing since the Hyundai Tournament of Champions was officially unveiled on Monday at the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship.
The next generation of adipure footwear features a number of new components, including a proprietary puremotion outsole that allows the foot to move more naturally during the swing. The outsole was also injected with poured polyurethane (PU) that improves cushioning and support.
“Walking as much as we do out on TOUR definitely takes its toll,” said Dustin Johnson. “Once I started wearing the pure 360, I immediately felt the incredible comfort and feel more refreshed at the end of my round. Not only do they look great, they’re the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn.”
To improve traction and grip on the course, designers redesigned the thintech outsole with swing plane traction and a new midfoot cleat, and added a new heel cage with 360WRAP support -- in the midfoot and heel -- for increased stability during the swing.
Adidas' pure 360 shoe is available in four colorways -- Black / Running White / Samba Blue, Running White / Silver Metallic / Slime, Tan Brown / White / Dark Solar Blue and Running White / Running White / Metallic Silver -- and retails for $250.
