Following the best season of his professional career, Billy Horschel agreed to terms on a multi-year contract extension with PING that will see him continue to play the company's clubs, wear a PING hat and carry a PING staff bag. Financial terms and length of the multi-year contract were not disclosed.
“Consistency is one mark of true talent, and this year he was high up on leaderboards week in and week out, and he learned how to finish the job under pressure on Sunday afternoon," said John Solheim, PING's chairman and CEO. "He has the shot-making skills and the confidence to go far in this game, and we look forward to watching him achieve his goals for years to come.”
In just his third full season on the PGA TOUR, Horschel, who's currently 35th in the Official World Golf Rankings, recorded his first PGA TOUR victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, amassed more than $3.5 million in earnings and advanced to the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola for the first time in his career.
He also posted three top-5 finishes at the Shell Houston Open, U.S. Open and Valero Texas Open.
"Continuing my association with PING gives me peace of mind as we begin the new season," Horschel said. "I have a lot of goals for this season, so it's great to have PING in my corner."
Horschel currently uses PING's G25 driver, 3-wood and 5-wood, Tour Gorge wedges, and a Redwood Piper S custom putter. He also switched from PING's S56 iron to S55 at the season-opening Frys.com Open.
