Patrick Reed won his first PGA TOUR title on Sunday at the Wyndham Championship, beating rookie Jordan Spieth with a birdie on the second hole of a playoff in Greensboro, N.C.

Midway through the season at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, Reed made a risky equipment switch when he decided to overhaul his entire bag and join Callaway's staff.

Since the switch, Reed, who was with Nike at the beginning of the year, has made nine of 10 cuts, including four top-10 finishes.

While most of his bag remained intact at the Wyndham Championship, Reed did make one interesting addition early in the week, putting a second Callaway X-Forged 2-iron in play.

Taking a page from Jason Day's book — the Aussie used two 2-irons last week at the PGA Championship — Reed went with a 2-iron that was bent to 15 degrees, making it a glorified 1-iron. Bounce was also added to the iron to counteract the stronger loft.

According to Callaway reps, Reed was looking for a club that allowed him to hit more fairways without sacrificing distance and felt the stronger lofted 2-iron was the perfect club for Sedgefield Country Club.
