PGA TOUR rookie and four-time European Tour winner Ross Fisher is off to a solid with his new Nike VR_S Covert Tour Driver. After testing it leading up to his first PGA TOUR start of the season at the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation, the Englishman decided to put a 10.5-degree in the bag.
He arrived at the Farmers Insurance Open feeling extremely positive about his newest addition, so much so, that he requested the Nike Tour Van build him a backup driver with the same specs. Fisher currently has a Project X 7A3 shaft in his VR_S Covert Tour driver. He's currently tied for 10th with nine holes to play in the final round.
Fisher also tested a new Project X 8A4 shaft in his VR Pro Limited Edition 3-wood -- the same model currently in his driver, but a different weight -- but left undecided on whether he would go with a new shaft. For the moment he's sticking with his Fujikara Speeder 7.2x.
