Sometimes an equipment switch can make all the difference in the world. For Brian Gay the decision to replace his old TaylorMade R11S with the company's new R1 ended up being a game-changer.
After using the R11S at the Sony Open in Hawaii, Gay put the R1 in the bag a week later at the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation and finished the week second in driving accuracy (81 percent). He also added a RocketBladez Tour 4-iron in an attempt to reduce the distance gap between his Mizuno MP-60 5-iron and TaylorMade 19-degree Rescure TP fairway wood.
Gay also notched Titleist's first PGA TOUR victory with the new 2013 Pro V1x.
