OMAHA, Neb. – The first 25 of 50 available PGA TOUR membership cards for the 2013-14 season were assured today at the Web.com Tour’s final Regular Season event, the Cox Classic presented by Lexus of Omaha.
Michael Putnam of Lakewood, Wash. was the Regular Season’s leading money winner. His reward is fully exempt status for the upcoming PGA TOUR season and an invitation to THE PLAYERS Championship next May. Putnam earned $450,184. Ben Martin was No. 2 with $399,769.
The top 25 will head to the four-tournament Web.com Tour Finals, where they
will be joined by those PGA TOUR players who finished 126-200 in the FedExCup
standings. An additional 25 TOUR cards will be on the line.
The Finals will also determine PGA TOUR eligibility positioning for 2013-14
for all 50 card earners at the conclusion of the final event, the Web.com Tour
Championship, which will take place Sept. 26-29 at TPC Sawgrass’ Dye’s Valley
Course at TOUR headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
The restructured 2013-14 PGA TOUR season will begin in October.
