Notebook: Malnati poster boy for Web.com Tour successtext sizeAugust 20, 2013
POSTER BOY FOR WEB.COM TOUR SUCCESS – Peter Malnati started June with no status whatsoever on the Web.com Tour. By Sunday night the resident of nearby Dandridge, Tenn. had all but assured himself of a PGA TOUR card after he sealed victory in the News Sentinel Open in Knoxville. Malnati’s rapid rise began with a T15 after he successfully Monday-qualified in Wichita. With the exception of one missed cut in Utah, the University of Missouri product did not finish outside the top 25 in seven starts. His victory catapulted him to 16th on the money list. “I really worked hard, and I love doing this,” Malnati said.
