BOISE, Idaho -- Supervalu announced today the 12 primary non-profit beneficiaries for the 2008 Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft. The following organizations were selected based on their commitment to improving the quality of life for youth.
• 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games • Ballet Idaho, Inc. -- Learning Through Dance • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho -- School-based mentoring project • Discovery House, A facility of the Idaho Youth Ranch • Easter Seals -- Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain - P.L.A.Y Project • Idaho Botanical Garden - Children's Adventure Garden • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation -Treasure Valley Walk to Cure Diabetes • NAMI -- Boise, National Alliance on Mental Illness -- Eliminating Stigma Project • Nampa Family Shelter Coalition, Inc. -- Feed the Children • Regence Caring Foundation for Children -- Dental Program • Special Olympics Idaho • St. Luke's -- Kids' Team
As primary beneficiaries, each of these organizations will receive a donation from the Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft proceeds at a luncheon hosted by SUPERVALU in December.
In addition, more than 100 non-profit organizations are currently participating in the Sara Lee TICKETS Fore CHARITY? program. Non-profit organizations sell tournament tickets and keep 100 percent of their ticket sales revenue. SUPERVALU and Sara Lee provide a $50,000 bonus pool, which is distributed to the non-profits selling tickets based on each individual non-profit organization's percentage of total tickets sales from the TICKETS Fore CHARITY? program.
Over the years, the Albertsons Boise Open presented by First Health has provided over $8 million dollars to non-profit organizations throughout the Treasure Valley and Idaho. The Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft will take place at Hillcrest Country Club September 8-14, 2008. The Tournament will be broadcast on GOLF CHANNEL to more than 110 million subscribers internationally.
