He and his caddie have an interesting way of naming which club he hits, giving an example, "We call my 47-degree pitching wedge, 'Michael Irvin' because that is the number Irvin wore when he played at the University of Miami.".

Uses a 1989 quarter to mark his ball to represent the year he was born. At the PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament, used a 1995 quarter to represent the year his caddie graduated from high school.

Lists Davis Love III and Fred Couples as his favorite players while growing up.
