Magnolia Course No. 1
John Mallinger, John Merrick
Ranked 134th and 141st on the money list respectively, these two are looking at their last opportunity to move into the top 125.
7:45 a.m. ET
Magnolia Course No. 10
Chris Tidland, Steve Wheatcroft
Tidland at 146th on the money list would like to move into the top 125 or at least hold his ground to secure a spot in the q-school finals. Wheatcroft (164th) needs a good week.
11:25 a.m. ET
Palm Course No. 1
Troy Matteson, Mark Wilson
Matteson won in 2009, so keeping his card isn't a concern. But his 125th spot on the money list is coveted by many players, including Wilson (140th).

The first round of the Children's Miracle Network classic is set to begin Thursday. Here's a preview:

EXPERT PREVIEW: PGA TOUR NETWORK on-site correspondent Brian Katrek previews Thursday's action:

Thursday's forecast

Sunny
Temp: 80 high/61 low
Chance of precipitation 0 percent. Winds from NE at around 15 mph.

There was alot of talk early in the week that the Kodak Challenge hole, No. 17 on the Magnolia Course, would be played as a driveable par 4 at some point in the week. That rumor is not true. The 17th is 484 yards from the back and will be played one tee box up at some point this week, but not from the ladies tee as the story had gone. Aaron Baddeley and Rickie Fowler will have to chase down Troy Merritt the old fashioned way.

Keep an eye on the putter of Troy Merritt this week. Troy was among the players spotted earlier in the week at the Fantasia Gardens mini golf course. Fantasia Gardens has been rated as the toughest mini golf course in the country in the past. The greens (turf) have lots of humps and bumps and run quite fast. Much faster than the greens on the tournament courses. That is not always a good thing.

The weather, like just about everything else here at Walt Disney World Resort, has been perfect leading up to the opening round. That has made both courses firmer and faster than this time last year. Combine the firm fairways and greens with long, Bermuda rough and new, less aggressive grooves, and scoring should be much tougher in 2010.
