With FedExCup points quintupled, current form is even more valuable, particularly of the unrequited kind for guys still chasing their first wins of the year (Day, Stenson).

I'm banking on the familiarization angle this week. Not sure how many times Mickelson has played Liberty National, but as a member there, he's probably seen it more often than most of his competitors.

Sonja Henie's out ... I'll take Matt Kuchar. The 2012 PLAYERS champ has two wins and as many runner-up finishes in 2013 but has consecutive finishes outside the top 20 coming into this event. That has to stop, and stop it will at Liberty National.

If it's a big event, he's high on the leaderboard. Look up his six top 10s this year, there's not a slouch in the bunch. Hard to believe he's still stuck on one TOUR win (2010 HP Byron Nelson); I say he gets No. 2 in the FedExCup Playoffs opener.

I know it's a risk to leave Tiger off your team, but I an nervous about how tight Liberty National is. I am not benching Stenson until he slows down. This won't be that week.

I expect him to play well in the Playoffs, and the St. John's guy should have plenty of support this week in the Big Apple.

I'd be surprised if Stenson doesn't win at least one Playoffs events -- he has two runner-ups and a solo third in his last three starts on the PGA TOUR (two of which were majors). Why not this one?

The Swede is hungry, having fallen just short of victory while placing in the top 3 at The Open, the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA. He's currently ninth in the FedExCup standings and a victory would certainly put him in the mix to win the FedExCup.

Jason Day: Day is No. 14 in the FedExCup standings and wants to control his own fate at East Lake. He had a T8 at the PGA Championship and took last week off. He also finished T24 at The Barclays last year, thanks to a stellar 66 on Sunday.

Cannot erase the sting of going 0-4 in the majors, but the push for the FedExCup will re-focus the points leader upon his return to Liberty National, where he shared runner-up in 2009.

Though he's struggled on the weekends of majors, Woods has been on in most of his other starts, racking up five wins in the process. He also finished second the last time The Barclays was at Liberty National and I see no reason he won't fare even better this week.

Finished eighth here as a TOUR rookie in 2009. Has been his usual steady self this year, but is still looking for his first victory of 2013.

Westwood is due for a win this season, coming off the strength of six top 10's. If the Englishman can put together a solid final round (he hasn't broken par on a Sunday since the Masters) he will break down the door for his 3rd PGA TOUR victory.
