Strong field set for 35th annual Legends of Golf

SAVANNAH, Ga. - With the passing of Friday's 5 p.m. commitment deadline, the field is now set for next week's Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf at the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa. The tournament kicks off with the Demaret Division competition for golf's great grand champions ages 70+ on Monday and Tuesday (April 16-17). Mark James and Des Smyth will defend their title in the 36-hole Raphael Division starting on Friday (April 20), while Legends Division champions David Eger and Mark McNulty return to the 54-hole competition offering official money and Charles Schwab Cup points on Friday through Sunday (April 20-22).

The 71 teams competing across three divisions include 16 World Golf Hall of Fame members. Eight of those players will compete in the Legends Division- Hubert Green, Hale Irwin, Lanny Wadkins, Larry Nelson, Nick Price, Bernhard Langer, Tom Watson and Tom Kite. The Raphael Division will include teammates Ben Crenshaw and Curtis Strange. The Demaret Division will include Billy Casper, Gary Player, Charlie Sifford, Doug Ford, Gene Littler and Lee Trevino. Also competing in the Legends Division is Sandy Lyle, who will be inducted in the World Golf Hall of Fame next month.
