The absence of Bernhard Langer for an estimated two months will dramatically impact the Champions Tour Power Rankings well into the summer tournaments.
Langer underwent surgery on his left thumb last week in New York City to repair ligament damage. The three-time Player of the Year suffered the injury in a bicycle accident.
David Eger is the defending champion for this week's Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic. He won the inaugural event with a 3-under 69 on a rainy, windy final round. Eger finished at 11-under for a 1-shot victory over Tommy Armour III. Solid iron play in the difficult conditions and clutch putting made the difference for Eger.
Fallen Oak Golf Club in Biloxi is a 7,487-yard, par 72 designed by Tom Fazio. It features the 604-yard par-5 15th hole and plenty of water hazards to negotiate.

He's on a roll. In addition to his victory at the Toshiba Classic, Price finished third in his previous start at The ACE Group Classic. His putting is catching up to his always-impressive ball-striking. If the putter continues to work, look out.

Remarkably, he's first in Greens in Regulation on both tours, at 85.80 percent on the Champions Tour and 80.56 percent on the PGA TOUR. No wonder he's got a victory, a runner-up and a T17 in his three starts on the Champions Tour.

Don't forget the lefthander. He's got a T3 at The ACE Group Classic and a pair of T4s in four starts. The other wasn't shabby, either - a T12 at Toshiba Classic. He's No. 2 in scoring average at 67.33.

His statistical excellence cannot be overlooked. He's first in birdie average, second in putting average (1.647), third in the All-Around ranking and fourth in Total Driving. And he shares No. 2 in scoring average at 67.33 with Cochran.

The winner in Hawaii to kickoff the season is first in Driving Accuracy at 88.1 percent, third on the Charles Schwab Cup points list and fourth on the Money List. And there's the impressive third-place finish at the Mayakoba Classic on the PGA TOUR.
