Five years ago I was volunteering as a 12 year old junior standard bearer at the First Tee Open at Pebble Beach. I remember watching the teenagers and the pros walking along and playing side by side on the beautiful Pebble Beach Golf Links. I thought that was the most amazing thing in the world! Who knew that five years later, I would have the opportunity to play in this prestigious event. This year I am here at the First Tee Open representing the First Tee of Monterey County. I am truly honored to represent the First Tee because the program has had such a positive impact on my life.
Playing in the Homecare & Hospice First Tee Open is like playing in a golf wonderland. So far this week has been awesome because of the numerous dinners, speeches, and golf with the best professional golfers in the world at Pebble Beach! I just finished my first round at Pebble Beach with professional golfer Bobby Clampett and we had a blast. We had a good round having a mix of birdies from each of us. It is really fun to play in this team competition because we are able to work together on the course. Being at this tournament is inspiring because the event is a congregation of great human beings. The most successful businessmen and women, some of the best golfers in the world, and the First Tee juniors all at one event sure is a special thing. However, the week is not over! A couple more rounds of tournament golf to go. Hopefully the weather is just as perfect as it was today.
