PGA TOUR renews strategic relationship with SINA through 2015text sizeFebruary 19, 2013
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – The PGA TOUR and SINA Corporation of China have announced a three-year extension of their agreement whereby SINA will continue to produce and manage the official PGA TOUR web site in Mandarin language for Chinese users (http://golf.sina.com.cn/pgatour.html).
As part of the extension, SINA will simulcast 12 live tournaments each year through 2015 via SINA.com and its web properties. Its first simulcast will be this week’s World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship, which begins Wednesday. SINA has been producing the PGA TOUR site for Chinese users since 2008.
“We are very excited about extending our partnership with SINA,” said Luis Goicouria, PGA TOUR Vice President of Digital Media Business Development and Operations. “Growing and serving the golf audience in China is a huge priority for the TOUR. Later this year, the TOUR will update its mobile and tablet apps to include Mandarin content for Chinese users, and SINA will play a key role.”
