PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. -- TPC.COM, the official website of the Tournament Players Club Network, has been relaunched with new and improved interactive features and capabilities, including easier online booking of tee times, vacation packages and lessons as well as a new video element that ties TPCs to their PGA TOUR heritage.
With a number of TPC courses having played host to PGA TOUR, Champions Tour or Nationwide Tour events, TPC.COM has added a special story-telling video segment that brings memorable moments to life. A TPC Ambassador highlights a number of tournament stories that have occurred on TPC courses, including: 1982 PLAYERS champion Jerry Pate tossing course architect Pete Dye and Commissioner Deane Beman into the lake at No. 18 after capturing the first championship held at TPC Sawgrass; Tom Kite's 1990 playoff victory at TPC Southwind to become the TOUR's first $6 million career winner; Peter Jacobsen's second victory at what is now the Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands ... 19 years after winning in the tournament's first year at the TPC; and Andrew Magee making the PGA TOUR's first-ever hole-in-one on a par 4, at TPC Scottsdale.
TPC.COM also has streamlined its booking capabilities to allow visitors to begin the booking process directly from the homepage for tee times at daily fee and resort TPCs, line up vacation packages and instruction at TOUR Academies. Other enhancements include: course locator; easy eNews sign up; TPC gift card purchase and balance inquiry; inquiry forms for events and outing information that will be answered within 24 hours; PGA TOUR integrated leaderboard and event schedule; career and internship applications; course event and agronomy calendars; and TPC weather provided by Telvent/DTN. Additionally, coinciding with the site relaunch is the launch of the TPC Network Facebook page, which will provide fans the latest news and happenings at each TPC course.
"The new TPC.COM represents cutting edge technology, improved navigation, stunning imagery and most importantly, an innovative execution to PGA TOUR storytelling, which is what ultimately differentiates TPCs from other golf experiences," said David Pillsbury, President of PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties. "We believe our new site represents the best of the best and will provide our members, guest and PGA TOUR golf fans with a world-class online experience."
In conjunction with the relaunch, TPC.COM is offering a special sweepstakes that runs through September 30 and features a grand prize of a TOUR Player Experience for two at TPC Sawgrass, home of THE PLAYERS Championship. The TOUR Player Experience recreates a PGA TOUR tournament experience for everyday golfers, from VIP locker room access and practice at the TOUR Academy to playing THE PLAYERS Stadium Course with a "storyteller" caddie, who offers historical anecdotes from past PLAYERS Championships throughout the round. Additionally, 10 second prizes of a foursome at any TPC course will be awarded, as well as 25 third prizes of $50 TPC Gift Certificates. People can enter the sweepstakes either online or by mail. Details are on TPC.COM.
The relaunch will be supported through digital and print marketing, as well as social media outlets to drive people to the site. TPC.COM receives an average of nearly 100,500 visitors per month, spanning every state and 177 countries and territories.
