PHIL STAMBAUGH: Okay, Chien Soon Lu with a very nice 68 today and you get in at minus nine, currently three shots behind Bernhard Langer. Seven birdies today, very nice in very different conditions. Just maybe a few comments about your overall round.

CHIEN SOON LU: My 1st hole, wind very strong, I hit driver (indiscernible) 3-putt.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: 1st hole.

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah, 1st hole.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: But you recovered and made seven birdies in, what, a 10-hole stretch?

CHIEN SOON LU: With driver and iron, control in very strong wind, same. Same hit, okay.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: Overall, how did you feel you played today to get into contention?

CHIEN SOON LU: Today's pretty good, very good control in iron.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: Okay. And obviously you putted very well, right?

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah, but 13, 14 missed, no in.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: Can you provide some details on your birdies? You told us about what happened at the 1st hole. Maybe length of birdie putts 2 through 11?

CHIEN SOON LU: 2, 11. 4-iron second shot 1st hole. 2nd hole, 4-iron, 2-yard.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: Okay. 3?

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah, that's it.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: Okay. Was the wind very tough today?

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: Swirling?

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: Okay. We'll go to questions. Craig, do you want to ask Mr. Lu?

Q. Did you realize you were one shot behind Bernhard on those putts?

CHIEN SOON LU: Maybe I try tomorrow.

Q. I guess I wondered did you realize how close you were to tying him today if you would have made those?

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah. The 1st hole is double, but control.

Q. Like you said, on 13 and 14, if you make those putts, you maybe tied with him?

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah, I be maybe in tie.

Q. Did the wind affect the putting, because other players said the wind affected putting, too?

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah.

Q. Okay.

PHIL STAMBAUGH: Greg?

Q. What happened on 18?

CHIEN SOON LU: 18, second shot, 189. My 4-iron, strong wind, a little bit (indiscernible), yeah. very difficult shot, 18.

CHIEN SOON LU: I played golf.

Q. And then you thought about being a fisherman?

CHIEN SOON LU: Fish?

Q. Yeah.

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah.

Q. A commercial fisherman?

CHIEN SOON LU: Yes.

Q. So golf was too good?

CHIEN SOON LU: My daddy was fish.

CHIEN SOON LU: Yeah. But me, golf.
